Hank Williams ranks among the most noteworthy composers of all time. His ability to convey profound experience with simple lyrics and melodies was uncanny. In 1954, Tony Bennett introduced Hank to a mainstream audience by recording "Cold, Cold, Heart" and subsequently, Hank's songs have been covered by 100s of famous singers. Patsy's stunning vocal talent and unique ability to embody emotion with her voice "set the gold standard" for female vocalists. As a youth, her hope was to be able to "sing Hank Williams songs and yodel." This program will feature Hank and Patsy's music and explore the way these iconic artists influence music today.
