Basic Technology Skills

January 23rd, 2018, 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Work on the computer skills you need to develop with an instructor present to answer questions as needed. Learn to use the smartphone or tablet you recently acquired. Practice using the mouse or typing; search the internet; set-up or use email or Facebook; work on projects using Microsoft Office 2010 products. Sessions are drop-in, on a first-come first seated basis. Seating is limited, and we encourage you to attend only once a week in order to allow time for others. Participants are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet from home, in order to practice on their own device.

Middle School Volunteers

January 24th, 2018, 7:00pm to 8:00pm
Our middle school volunteer program has recently changed, and now requires registration by speaking to a staff member. You can register by calling (708) 795-8000 ext. 3088 or coming to the second floor Youth Services desk. Please let us know each date that you plan to come to; signing up for one session does not sign you up for all following sessions. If you sign up for a session and cannot make it, you must call and cancel. If you do not call us, we reserve the right to cancel any future registrations for this program. There are only 5 spaces open per session, so sign up soon!

This class is taught by a Project CARE tutor and registration is required. Please call 708-656-8000 ext. 2383 to register and for more information. This free class will help you improve your reading skills, build vocabulary and strengthen your writing skills.

Resume Workshop

This workshop will help you create, update, or improve your resume. Please bring your information on a flash drive as you will be using library computers.

Tween Scene

Ages 10-14 years
Are you ages 10-14? Want something fun to do after school? Mix up some slime, get crafty, do trivia, play games, and more!

Please register at 708.795.8000 ex 3088, on our website, or in person at the Youth Services desk. Sign up begins 30 days before event. You must register for each individual session.

Rising Readers Storytime

Storytimes introduce children to the joy of books and develop their early literacy skills with fun, interactive experiences. Sessions run 45-60 minutes and may include stories, rhymes, songs, playtime, word play, or a simple craft.
