Job Search Strategies and Career Counseling

Are you struggling with your job search? Do you have questions about your resume ? Need tips for interviewing or networking? Join us for a special event with Nicole Wingate, Employment Specialist from the Goodwill Workforce Connection Center of North Riverside, onsite providing a workshop on current and future trends in the workforce job market, general job search assistance and one-on-one consultations. Bring your resume and questions!

Basic Technology Skills

February 28th, 2018, 10:30am to 12:00pm
Work on the computer skills you need to develop with an instructor present to answer questions as needed. Learn to use the smartphone or tablet you recently acquired. Practice using the mouse or typing; search the internet; set-up or use email or Facebook; work on projects using Microsoft Office 2010 products. Sessions are drop-in, on a first-come first seated basis. Seating is limited, and we encourage you to attend only once a week in order to allow time for others. Participants are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet from home, in order to practice on their own device.

Gaming Wednesdays

February 28th, 2018, 3:30pm to 5:30pm
Got the gaming moves? Show off your skill with the controller and challenge your friends to a game at the library! Play the PS4, board games, or cards! Play our games or bring your own Teen rated game! For high school aged teenagers.

Basic Reading and Writing Group

March 1st, 2018, 10:00am to 11:30am
This class is taught by a Project CARE tutor and registration is required. Please call 708-656-8000 ext. 2383 to register and for more information. This free class will help you improve your reading skills, build vocabulary and strengthen your writing skills.

KCGB

The Knitting and Crochet Guild of Berwyn (KCGB) meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday and on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. Join us to practice your craft in a social setting or to learn a new skill!

Finch robots have landed at the library! Learn to program these cute little guys over the course of six weeks and you’ll be a robot master in no time.
