Small Wonders Storytime

October 12th, 2017, 10:30am to 11:30am
For 20-35 month olds. Storytimes introduce children to the joy of books and develop their early literacy skills with fun, interactive experiences. Sessions run 45 - 60 minutes and may include stories, rhymes, songs, playtime, word play, or a simple craft.

Bilingual Babies Academy/Academia de Bebés Bilingües

October 13th, 2017, 10:30am to 11:30am
This is a unique bilingual baby program led by Margarita Moreno of Semillitas, a local play-based Spanish immersion center. Parents will learn simple but powerful methods of how to engage their babies in bilingual practices that will help the children develop strong pre-reading and speaking skills in both Spanish and English. Miss Margarita will help set the curriculum at the first session, and then a different parent volunteer will assist Miss Marissa in leading the program for the remaining three Fridays of this four week workshop.

Rising Readers Storytime

October 16th, 2017, 6:30pm to 7:30pm
For 5 and up.

Storytimes introduce children to the joy of books and develop their early literacy skills with fun, interactive experiences. Sessions run 45-60 minutes and may include stories, rhymes, songs, playtime, word play, or a simple craft.

Little Learners Storytime

For 3 to 5 year olds. Storytimes introduce children to the joy of books and develop their early literacy skills with fun, interactive experiences. Sessions run 45 - 60 minutes and may include stories, rhymes, songs, playtime, word play, or a simple craft.

Baby Bookworms Storytime

October 18th, 2017, 10:30am to 11:15am
0 - 19 months. Storytimes introduce children to the joy of books and develop their early literacy skills with fun, interactive experiences. Sessions run 45 - 60 minutes and may include stories, rhymes, songs, playtime, word play, or a simple craft.

Read For the Record: Quackers

October 19th, 2017 (All day)
The first 50 families will get a free copy of "Quackers", by Liz Wong!
On October 19th, 2017, people across the country will unite to read the children’s book Quackers, a quirky story about a cat who thinks he is a duck, in support of Jumpstart’s mission: to work toward the day every child in America enters kindergarten prepared to succeed. Come pick up your copy at the Youth Services desk on Oct. 19th! While supplies last.
