Fairy Tale Ball 2015

August 30th, 2015, 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Fairy tale characters have jumped off their pages for this very special celebration of all things magical.

Families and friends of all ages are welcome to join us for this free afternoon of performances, games, activities, face painting.

Explore in our glow in the dark fairy meadow, see our royal alchemist conduct mystical experiments, say hello to Rapunzel in her real life tower, help the three little pigs construct their houses, and much more!

Bring as many friends as you'd like! Costumes welcome.

Computer Tutoring

Work on the computer skills you need to develop with an instructor present to answer questions as needed. Practice using the mouse or typing; search the internet; set-up or use email or Facebook; work on projects using Microsoft Office 2010 products.
Sessions are drop-in, on a first-come first seated basis. Seating is limited, and we encourage you to attend only once a week in order to allow time for others.
Participants are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet from home, in order to practice on their own device.

DUPLO @ Your Library Club

Bring your wee ones to develop their creative building skills with us at the library! DUPLO® blocks will be available to construct their masterpieces. This is a drop in program - no registration is required. A caregiver is required to stay with the child.

Return to the Scene of the Crime

Chicago author and historian Rich Lindberg takes his audience on a tour of famous and forgotten Chicago crime scenes spanning 150 years. Based on his locally best-selling book Return to the Scene of the Crime: A Guide to Infamous Places in Chicago, Lindberg will share colorful anecdotes and stories about the Windy City’s lusty, colorful, and often notorious past.
