Youth Volunteers

April 28th, 2015, 4:30pm to 6:00pm
For use of the Youth Volunteer Program. Youth volunteers are in 6th-8th grade. Teen volunteers are 9th -12th grade. Stop at the Youth Services desk to pick up applications or go to http://www.berwynlibrary.org/junior-volunteer-program-jvp.

Family Game Night

April 28th, 2015, 7:00pm to 8:30pm
Join us for a family night of board games and puzzles. Every participant gets a free book at the end of the evening. This program is for families with children birth to 13.

STEAM Punks

April 29th, 2015, 5:00pm to 6:00pm
STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Join us once a month for a fun and challenging activity. Explore physics and simple machines with “Real-life Angry Birds!” Study chemistry with “Candy Chromatography!”

Throwback Thursdays

April 30th, 2015, 4:00pm to 5:00pm
From the super campy “Space Ghost” to the bizarre and surreal “Aaahh!!! Real Monsters,” come kick back and watch some retro cartoons and films from the 1950s through the 1990s

Lapsit Story Time (16-23 months)

May 1st, 2015, 10:00am to 10:30am
Story Time aims to introduce children to the world of books and reading with fun, interactive experiences in a safe environment. Sessions can run from 30 to 45 minutes and may include stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays, playtime and a simple craft activity.

Please register at 708.795.8000 ex 3088, on our website, or in person at the Youth Services desk. Sign up begins 30 days before event. Enrollment registers you for the whole six week session. Holidays may interfere with some dates.

Open Baby Play

May 1st, 2015, 11:00am to 3:00pm
Play is an important part of all areas of development in a wee one. Give your baby the benefits of play in a social environment and network with other parents / caregivers in this relaxed, informal environment. For ages 5 months - 24 months; no registration required.

Free Comic Book Day

May 2nd, 2015, 12:00pm to 3:00pm
In celebration of Free Comic Book Day, come to the Teen Room for free comics, prizes, snacks, and more! Berwyn's own Comic Collector will also be on hand with giveaways of its own.

In Dreams: Roy Orbison Retrospective

May 2nd, 2015, 2:00pm to 3:30pm
The 'In Dreams' Retrospective traces Roy Orbison's career from the first song he learned at age six through his music with the Traveling Wilburys shortly before his untimely death in 1988. Lead singer Ron Holm channels Orbison's music with uncanny fidelity, and the program includes many of Orbison's most familiar songs in addition to songs by musicians who influenced him. Accompanists Jannie Nelson and John Bishoff provide lush orchestrations and vocal harmonies that were characteristic of Orbison's studio sound.

Book Alive Day

May 4th, 2015 (All day)
Children's book characters have taken over the library! Stop in to visit them as they work in place of your library staff. Dress up as a children's book characters and get a free book and your photo on our Facebook page!

Anime Mondays

Manga fans and Anime fans, rejoice! Every Monday, the Teens room will feature an episode from an Anime series or a full-length film.

If You Give a Pig a Party!

Trivia Night

Show off your big brain, compete for prizes and have fun! Join us for our Friends of the Library-sponsored Trivia Night. No registration required, just show up and participate as an individual or as part of a team; teams are limited to six players.
