ESL Beginner Speaking

Practice makes perfect! This ESL study group is for beginner and intermediate adult learners who want to improve English listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students at a very high level might find personal tutoring more helpful, but everyone is welcome to try the group to see if they like it.

Smarty Pants presents The Heroes of History!

Join us for our summer reading kick-off!

Smarty Pants is back for the Big Balloon Show, this time presenting The Heroes of History, his take on this year's summer reading program theme: Every Hero Has a Story. The show features profiles of history’s greatest heroes – both from literature and true life! Meet our famous escape artist Harry Houdini who inspired a generation of magicians! Go back to the age of Greek mythology with our strong hero, Hercules. And we’ll even meet a new hero named Super Chicken!

Computer Tutoring

June 2nd, 2015, 6:30pm to 8:00pm
Work on the computer skills you need to develop with an instructor present to answer questions as needed. Practice using the mouse or typing; search the internet; set-up or use email or Facebook; work on projects using Microsoft Office 2010 products.
Sessions are drop-in, on a first-come first seated basis. Seating is limited, and we encourage you to attend only once a week in order to allow time for others.
Participants are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet from home, in order to practice on their own device.

Improve math or writing for placement tests like the GED, Accuplacer, and more. Or, just brush up on the basics for self-improvement.

Basic Writing (Project CARE)

June 4th, 2015, 10:00am to 11:30am
Learn grammar, spelling, and punctuation (from the beginning) in this drop-in study group. Practice writing messages, filling out applications, and much more. Start anytime!
