Meet the Director
The library's eighth director started September 1, 2009
Tammy Clausen has worked in public libraries for over fifteen years - the
last nine right here at the Berwyn Public Library. As the Department Head of first Readers'
Advisory and then Outreach Services, she created dynamic
service-oriented programs for the Library.
Tammy attended
Dominican University, graduating with a Masters in Library and
Information Science in 2001. In 2004, she co-authored a reference guide entitled
"The Horror Readers' Advisory: The Librarian's Guide to Vampires,
Killer Tomatoes and Haunted Houses."
A resident of Berwyn, Tammy
has worked successfully with the city, schools, historical society,
theater, cultural center, and park districts. Tammy says, "I believe
the library and these community organizations share common goals and
are natural partners that can benefit from collaborative programming
and shared resources."
Tammy's
networking skills and experience with cooperative community efforts
will be essential as we continue to serve the informational and
education needs of Berwyn residents.
