Computer Tutoring

6:30pm to 8:00pm
Work on the computer skills you need to develop with an instructor present to answer questions as needed. Practice using the mouse or typing; search the internet; set-up or use email or Facebook; work on projects using Microsoft Office 2010 products.
Sessions are drop-in, on a first-come first seated basis. Seating is limited, and we encourage you to attend only once a week in order to allow time for others.
Participants are welcome to bring a laptop or tablet from home, in order to practice on their own device.

The Canterbury Carollers

The Canterbury Carollers, a Victorian caroling ensemble located in the Chicago Metropolitan area, will perform a glorious arrangement of traditional carols, all written before 1870. Attired in authentic period costume, the group is a live tableau of Victorian England and its strolling carolers. Their perfectly blended a cappella harmonies will put everyone in the mood for holiday celebrations.

Just 20 Feet From Safety: The Story of the S.S. Eastland

Join us for this program commemorating the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the S.S. Eastland. Terry Lynch portrays Ollie Sanders, a Western Electric employee who was an eyewitness to the disaster of the S.S. Eastland. Relive the events, aftermath, and ongoing legends that surround the sinking of the “Speed Queen of the Great Lakes” on the Chicago River on July 24, 1915. Ollie is a combined character of real eyewitness accounts of the disaster. This program is sure to be informative and thought provoking.
