Prairie Poetry: Four Essential Illinois Poets

Much like Illinois evolved from a rural society to an urban one, so did Illinois poetry. William Pack tells the remarkable stories of four significant poets while sharing some of their finest writing, including Vachel Lindsay, the Prairie Troubadour; Edgar Lee Masters and his Spoon River Anthology; Carl Sandburg, recognized as the voice of America; and Gwendolyn Brooks, who earned acclaim for her textured portraits of life in Bronzeville.

Money Smart Week

The Berwyn Public Library, in partnership with The Berwyn Development Corporation and MB Financial Bank presents, Money Smart Week, Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 6:30 pm to 8:45 pm. Money Smart Week is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers and small businesses manage their finances by stressing the importance of financial literacy, informing consumers about support and assistance by providing free educational seminars and activities. While this program focuses on small businesses, all are welcome.

Don your dressy best, boys and girls! Sip tea and celebrate spring with your grown-up as you make crafts, enjoy snacks, and hear stories for our 7th annual tea party.
