William Pack, magician, author, and historian, cracks open his magic history scrapbooks to reveal a secret world of colorful characters, amusing adventures, and arcane knowledge. MEET the astonishing magicians who commanded the world’s stages and made the impossible possible. EXPLORE incredible behind-the-scenes stories that most never hear and audiences will not soon forget. WONDER at performance recreations of the baffling magic tricks behind the stories.

Computer Tutoring

October 29th, 2013, 7:00pm to 8:30pm
Work on the computer skills you need to develop with an instructor present to answer questions as needed. Practice using the mouse or typing; search the internet; set-up or use email or Facebook; work on projects using Microsoft Office 2010 products.
Sessions are drop-in, on a first-come first seated basis. Seating is limited, and participants are encouraged to attend only once a week in order to allow time for others.
Participants are welcome and encouraged to bring a laptop from home, in order to practice on their own computer.

The Affordable Healthcare Act

October 23rd, 2013, 7:00pm to 8:30pm
The Affordable Care Act was signed into law on March 23, 2010. This new Healthcare law not only allows new provisions improving healthcare in Illinois, but also includes a provision for states to create a Health Insurance Marketplace. Beginning October 1, 2013, you or your family can now buy insurance through the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace, an online shopping site where you can compare and review a wide range of quality health insurance plans, knowing the premiums, deductibles, and co-pays ahead of time.

GED Study Group

November 16th, 2013, 1:30pm to 3:30pm
After taking pre-tests to determine which subjects need improvement, students study for the GED test using a personalized learning plan. Some topics are studied as a group, while others topics may be studied one-to-one with a tutor, or studied independently using suggested materials. Students may use a library card to check out study books. When students are ready, they can take a mock-GED full-length test to simulate the complete experience, which will let them know if they are truly ready to pass the test.
